Streaming Audio

Streaming Audio is currently available only to iPhone and iPod Touch users. The directions below are not applicable to other mobile devices.

Through Adelphi's subscription to the NAXOS music database, we are able to offer free audio streaming for your iPhone or iPod Touch. After setting up a personal account through Adelphi, you will be able to enjoy all your playlists straight on your mobile device, both over 3G and Wi-Fi. In order to set up your account, click on "Go to Step 1." At any point, ask a librarian at the Reference Desk for help with NAXOS. If you have already followed all steps and simply need the link to download the Naxos app, click on "Go to Last Step."

In order to set up your free account with NAXOS, you will need to access the Library website using a personal computer or a mac. Go to an available computer and proceed to Step 2.

Open Adelphi Library's website at libraries.adelphi.edu. You can use any browser you wish. After you have loaded the Library's website, proceed to Step 3.

Databases

Click on "Browse Databases" in the box to the right. This will open a list of all the Library databases from A to Z. Above, you can see a screenshot of the link. After you have opened the list of databases, proceed to Step 4.

In order to navigate to the link for NAXOS, click on the letter "N" under the "Alphabetical Title List" and look for the link to "Naxos Music Library." When you click on this link, you will be asked to enter your universal username and password in order to proceed. Once you have clicked on the link and Naxos opens, proceed to Step 5.

Once Naxos has loaded, click on "Playlists" from the top menu bar. A screenshot of the link is pasted above. After you have clicked on Playlists, proceed to Step 6.

Click on "Sign Up" in order to create your personal free account for the mobile app. A screenshot of the Sign Up link is pasted above. Once you have clicked on it, proceed to Step 7.

Fill out all the required information. You need to provide them with a valid e-mail address in order to activate your account. It is suggested that you use your school email address. You will use the username and password you selected in order to log in the mobile streaming app. Click "Register New Account Now."After you have created your account, proceed to Step 8.

You will have to verify your e-mail address with Naxos. Log in the e-mail you provided during registration and follow the prompts in the e-mail from Naxos. After you have activated your account, proceed to Step 9.

Now you will need to install the Naxos mobile application to your iPhone/iPod. After you have installed the app, simply start it and enter your new username and password. All your playlists will be available for streaming. In order to create new playlists and/or add music, you will have to access Naxos using a computer or a mac. You can always visit the reference desk for help or visit the HELP section on Naxos' website.

Click on the link at the bottom of this page to install the NAXOS mobile. Note that when you click on this link, you will be taken to Apple iTunes' App Store and AU2Go will close. NAXOS' mobile app is in no way associated with Adelphi University and/or the Library and Adelphi does not warrant or support their mobile application. If you have any issues while installing the app, you should contact Naxos support from their website.
